Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was raised and born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam is Jazmine's mom, and is an ex-backup singer from Philadelphia International Records. When she was five years old, her father landed a position as a curator at Philadelphia's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the historic landmark. She graduated in 2005 of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was the vocal music instructor. Sullivan sang as a contralto member of the choir for children and later sang in the adult choir. Sullivan experienced only a small amount of secular music. She recalls that she was in her 11th year when someone wanted her to sing as a soloist in church. However, she was not quite ready to go. Then, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I had the opportunity to sing "Accept the Grace of God" in The show Showtime At the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part on the day of the birthday celebrations of her grandson at thirteen. Sullivan was first signed to Jive Records at the age 15. She was signed to Jive Records when she was fifteen. She was the producer of an entire album, but the album did not see release. Sullivan was later dropped from the label. There was a close relationship with Missy Elliott she produced many of the tracks in her debut album like the viral single "Backstabbers" - produced by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
